                     1031 Exchange Program

    Under Section 1031 of the United States Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 1031), the exchange of certain types of property may defer the recognition of capital gains or losses due upon sale, and hence defer any capital gains taxes otherwise due.

The Untied States Congress in acted the 1031 Exchange program. It is ruled by the Federal Government, and one should never assume a logical conclusion as to what a rule means. When participating in a 1031 Exchange program you will require an Exchange Company that will monitor the transaction, and make sure all rules are complied with. Their position is that of making sure you stay within the bounds of the intent of Congress. We have linked you to a well-established  firm Realty Exchangers Inc. and they are supplying you with the rules and regulations. You may download, read, and in other words get informed. Do not retain or hire an exchange company that does not have full time legal staff on board. Part-timers are part-timers, an expert is what you need when dealing with a 1031 Exchange.
